Dine the Distance
The Brief
Dine the Distance was an app concept to create a fun and engaging experience for those who consider themselves "foodies" to go out and try new restaurants while also engaging in a community of like-minded food-loving people. The user would use a digital passport that participating restaurants would "stamp" once you completed your meal at the restaurant. The idea was to have challenges for the users where the winner or user with the most stamps would earn a prize or coupons but they could also be used for bragging rights. The app would also allow restaurants to be presented in front of new customers and allow the restaurants to communicate with their personal fans and offer promotions and coupons.
Challenges
Dine the distance was one of my first times creating and interacting with real user testers. It was also my first time developing a commercially focused app as most of my previous work had been in the gaming space. The result was discovering new approaches, to use in the future, when taking on a design.
My Role
Dine the Distance was a group project where I had the privilege to collaborate with 3 other talented and smart team members to establish our vision of the project. I developed mock-ups, wireframes, and prototypes, conducted some hands-on user testing, and even hit the streets to gauge interest in the project.
