The Brief

​Northern Guilds is a fun-first, device-agnostic dungeon crawler blockchain MMORPG inspired by your favorite childhood games. In a modern take on the pixel-perfect art style of nostalgic adventure games, players and their friends embark on an epic journey into Ragnarok.

Challenges

A new and exciting challenge I faced while working on Northern Guild was assembling the art team from the beginning of the project. It was a great experience meeting so many talented artists, developing the art test, and building a strong team to tackle the design of Northern Guilds. 

My Role

With Northern Guilds I played 2 major roles in the project as Art Director. First I was the creator of the NFT mint that went on to raise 2.8 million (USD) in 43 minutes, allowing us to raise enough money to go into full development. Then I was also responsible for establishing the look and feel of the game and established some of the approaches we would take going forward. Once this was established I assembled the art team of 4 to take on all the visual needs of the project. I conducted interviews, designed the art test, trained and coached the art team to get them up to the standards of the project, and supported them in any way I could as Art Director, and to be fair, I loved every minute of it!
