Tetris Beat

Amber | N3TWORK
Overview

Tetris Beat reimagines the classic Tetris experience by integrating rhythm-based gameplay. Players rotate and drop Tetrominos in time with the music, creating combo chains and maximizing their score while staying synchronized with the beat.

The project combined the familiar mechanics of Tetris with a music-driven experience, requiring UI and visual elements that could support both gameplay clarity and rhythmic timing.

My Role

On Tetris Beat, I worked as a UI Artist and Illustrator, contributing to the design and development of the game's interface and visual elements.

My responsibilities included designing menus, icons, and collectible assets while helping refine the overall UI flow of the game. I collaborated closely with designers and developers to ensure the interface supported the rhythm-based gameplay while maintaining clarity and visual consistency.

Through this work, I helped shape the presentation and usability of the game's menus and supporting UI systems.

Challenges

Working on Tetris Beat introduced the challenge of designing UI elements that supported both classic Tetris gameplay and rhythm-based mechanics. Players needed to track timing, piece placement, and scoring simultaneously without overwhelming the interface.

Additionally, joining a much larger development team than I was typically used to required adapting to established pipelines and collaborating across multiple disciplines to ensure the UI integrated smoothly with the game’s overall design.
