Harley Davidson

Overview

The Harley-Davidson Rider App was part of an initiative to expand Harley-Davidson’s digital ecosystem and strengthen connections within its global riding community.

At the time, many Harley-Davidson rider clubs operated independently through local dealerships, which created fragmented experiences for riders across regions. The goal of the project was to design a unified digital platform that could connect riders, support community engagement, and encourage more frequent riding experiences.

Working with an external product team, we explored early concepts for a mobile and web-based experience that would bring Harley riders together through shared events, routes, and community interaction.

STUDIO: Harley Davidson (outsourced team)

ROLE: Product Designer / UX Designer

PLATFORM: Mobile & Web
FOCUS: Community platform for riders

My Role

I was contracted to support the early product design phase of the Rider App, helping translate research insights into initial product concepts and user experience frameworks.

My responsibilities included defining interaction flows, developing wireframes and interface mockups, and building early prototypes to test product ideas. I also contributed to strategic discussions around how the platform could best support the needs of the global riding community.

In addition to interface design, I produced presentation materials and storyboards that helped communicate the proposed user journey and product vision to stakeholders.

Key contributions included:

• UX Strategy & Interaction Design
• Wireframes and Interface Mockups
• Prototype Development
• User Journey Storyboards
• Product Concept Presentations

Challenges

One of the main challenges of the project was synthesizing insights gathered from Harley-Davidson communities around the world. Different regions had unique needs, riding habits, and community structures.

The design process required filtering this diverse set of inputs into a cohesive product strategy while ensuring the platform remained accessible, intuitive, and valuable to riders globally.

Balancing regional flexibility with a consistent user experience became a key focus during the early design exploration.

Design Approach

We explored how riders discover events, routes, and clubs, focusing on simple navigation and community interaction.
